Short Shorts: Jumpsuit Spring 2026
Jumpsuit is an experimental night for works-in-the-works, crossing
various genres of live performance. Curated by the Short Shorts team,
“Jumpsuit” gives performers more time than they would get at Short
Shorts Open Stage. Sometimes, an idea needs more than 5 minutes! While
slightly more formal, this evening will maintain the casual, supportive vibe
of Short Shorts, hosted by Alisa Popova & Erica Badgeley, with lighting
design and technical support from Ricardo Solis.
Spring 2026 Jumpsuit artists: Zara Felipe Lopez, Alex (Alexandra) Kronz,
Lou Chow, Alexandra Romanyshyn, and Noelle Chun.

The Harsh Art of Unanchoring
Equipoise Dance returns with its Season 2 concert, “The Harsh Art of Unanchoring” — an evening of contemporary dance rooted in authentic human connection, reflection, and shared physical inquiry.
Performed by company artists Anneka Parr, Bethany Lynch, Emma Neilson, Lauran Drackett, and Melissa Koh Krienke, this program emerges from a journey into the subconscious, asking: What are we carrying that no longer serves us? What holds us in place, limiting forward motion? And what might become possible if we loosen our grip — allowing weight to lift, shift, or fall away entirely? These questions are embodied through distinct movement voices, each dancer drawing from personal experience — informing both an intimate duet performed by directors Heather Smith and Samantha Weissbach and the full-company work “and there I was”.
Between these works sits “Hi, I’m a mother”, a piece shaped through the lived experience of six dynamic guest artists, each sharing intimate realities of their relationship with motherhood and how it reshapes identity, purpose, and the body at its core.
“The Harsh Art of Unanchoring” invites audiences into an immersive evening of movement and storytelling — where powerful physicality, shared vulnerability, and moments of release offer both an engaging performance and space for personal reflection.

Alchymia
The Cabiri presents Alchymia, a theatrical aerial dance performance inspired by the four phases of alchemical transformation. Our venue for this new work takes us back to our roots in southwest Seattle - Youngstown Cultural Arts Center.
At the alchemist’s workbench, a journey through darkness and into the light begins. From the cold, black phase of nigredo to the culmination of the process in the fiery, passionate rubedo, join us on a journey of physical and spiritual transformation. We will explore the alchemical process through the lens of both the ancient art and science of alchemy and the modern Jungian interpretation of growth within the human psyche. Prepare to be mesmerized and enchanted by our aerialists and acrobats as they dance the unfolding of this magical process, moving through the phases of black, white, yellow, and red.
Alchymia contains subject matter that may not be appropriate for audience members under the age of 12. Audience members are required to wear a face mask that covers their nose and mouth while inside the venue at all times.

Ghost Game XIII: Devil in the Deep Blue Sea
All Hallows Eve approaches, and the Cabiri is dredging up ghastly tales from the deep in preparation for our 13th-annual Ghost Game production October 17-November 2 at Arcadia in Ballard. From sirens caterwauling in the sails to the murky depths where the rusalka awaits to tangle you in her hair, the ocean lures the damned with gifts that cannot be resisted.
The fearless performers of The Cabiri troupe will dive into the depths of the darkest myths as they encounter "Devil In the Deep Blue Sea," a collection of ancient tales from across the continents and beneath murky waters. In this evening-length production, aerialists dance with maddened Rusalka and acrobats dive into the arms of the vampiric Kappa. A chosen few guests will find themselves entangled in the evening's festivities, lured into the mire and transformed into storytellers and unsuspecting participants in the epic tales unfolding before them.
Due to mature subject matter, guests under 16 years of age will not be admitted. Portions of Devil in the Deep Blue Sea entail standing for short periods of time and walking slowly in low light conditions. PLEASE WEAR FLAT SHOES AND LEAVE BACKPACKS AND LARGE PURSES AT HOME as they can create a trip hazard for other audience members.
